Objective

The student learns the entire process of music production and is able to plan and implement a production on a professional level. The student is able to specify the different stages of making a recording and the special characteristics of specific projects. The student is able to act as an artistic producer and implement a technically high-quality production. The student is able to adapt to the needs of the client. The student is able to complete assignments according to schedule.

Content

Project-based studio work and coaching meetings. Lectures and guest lectures. Artist development, the producer’s career development and operating in commercial environments.

Prerequisites

The student is able to define the role of a music producer in different productions. The student is able to describe the producer's tasks and related responsibilities and requirements. The student is able to specify the technical and artistic characteristics of music productions of different genres and eras. The student understands the historical development of music technology and production and is able to relate it to contemporary ways of working. The student is able to implement basic music productions.

The student is able to record, edit and process vocals on a digital audio workstation. The student is able to describe basic vocal physiology. The student is able to communicate constructively and positively with singers and musicians in recording situations. The student has the ability to direct, manage and record vocal tracks and provide the proper signal processing in productions.
