Objective

The student is capable of using music technology applications and other computer software and devices used in studying, practicing and teaching of music. The student can specify different fields of music technology. The student acquires basic skills in video production. Having completed the course, the student knows how to use and maintain the computer and essential software in their studies and profession. The student can describe the importance of keeping up with technological development and applying new technologies to their own work and to the continuous improvement of their skills and expression.

Content

Lectures and guest lectures. Basic video production excercises. Familiarization with new technology and its applications.

Prerequisites

The student knows the fundamentals of sound synthesis and can describe the operating principles of synthesizers. The student knows how to design and produce desired sounds and effects in a digital audio workstation environment. The student can describe the basic principles of sound sampling, knows how to use sound samplers and is capable of building their own sampling instruments. The student is able to use sound synthesis and sampling in a creative manner in their own music making.
