Objective

The student can compose, arrange and write music for various pedagogical purposes. The student can creatively utilize various methods of music writing. The student is able to use music technology naturally as part of their expression. The student is able to work purposefully in a group and to give and receive constructive feedback on their own music and that of others. The student is able to express their musical opinions verbally and in writing and capable of producing a recording of their own music.

Content

Writing pedagogical compositions for different purposes and ensembles. Seminar work and completing assignments alone and in small groups. Creative composing and writing lyrics. Music technology for recording. Making demo recordings from one’s own music.

Location and time

Creative music making sessions on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. from 6 September 2023. Note the spaces and the group at different times! In some sessions the whole group is together (all) and in some sessions the pop jazz (PJ) and classical (CL) students are divided into their own groups according to the following program. The teachers are Jere Laukkanen, Joonas Pohjonen, Joona Pirilä ja Kristian Suninen.

The student can complete and submit the set exercises and assignments according to schedule. The student is able to act as an active member of the group and give constructive feedback on the contributions of other group members. The student presents and argues their own contribution to the group as agreed and is able to receive feedback and reflect on their own work.
