Objective

The student can prepare a high-quality concert repertoire of rhythmic music (pop/rock, r&b, jazz etc.), and organize and produce the concert. The student has good project management and interaction skills and is able to act both as an artistic leader of the band and as an individual interpreter of music. The student can utilize the possibilities of communication and information technology in marketing the concert.

Planning, rehearsing, leading and performing a concert repertoire that is performed publicly. Producing and marketing the concert.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

In order to receive an approved grade, the student:
- Has organized a concert for which they selected a high-quality repertoire, formed and rehearsed the ensemble and has taken care of the arrangements of the concert
- Is capable of performing for and communicating with the band and the audience
- Can prepare and organize their own artistic concert
- Takes into account the musical and other aspects, such as the venue and the audience, in the performance.

Prerequisites

Approved completion of Instrument studies 1–7 or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Approved completion of the Concert course or equivalent knowledge and skills.
