Objective

The student
• knows the concepts of graphic design and typography and is aware of the special requirements of various graphic design products
• is able to communicate with images, text and their interaction
• can use tools intended for professional use
• can apply their graphic design skills in practice.

Content

• History of graphic design and typography
• Understanding the visual communication industry and the job description of a graphic designer
• Ideation and problem solving skills
• Basic concepts and rules of typography
• Stylistic and technical criteria for selecting a typeface

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• knows the concepts of visual design and typography and understands the special requirements of different visual products
• is able to communicate with images, text, motion graphics and their interaction, and use tools intended for professional use
• is able to apply one’s visual design skills in practice
• completes the given tasks successfully and knows the main contents of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• is familiar with the concepts of visual design and typography and understands the special requirements of different visual products
• is able to communicate with images, text, motion graphics and their interaction, and use tools intended for professional use
• is able to apply one’s visual design skills in practice
• actively participates in teaching and performs the given tasks independently, showing initiative
• masters the contents of the course and applies what one has learned to one’s own work
• is able to acquire information independently.
