Objective

The student
• knows the concepts of graphic design and typography and is aware of the special requirements of various graphic design products
• is able to communicate with images, text and their interaction
• is able to use tools intended for professional use
• can apply their graphic design skills in practice.

Content

• History of graphic design and typography
• Understanding the graphic design industry and the job description of a graphic designer
• Ideation and problem solving skills
• Use of desktop publishing software and pixel and vector graphics editors
• Publishing service management
• Basic concepts and rules of typography
• Stylistic and technical criteria for selecting a typeface
• Preparation for publishing

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• knows the concepts of graphic design and typography and is aware of the special requirements of various graphic design products
• is able to communicate with images, text and their interaction
• can use tools intended for professional use
• can apply their graphic design skills in practice
• meets the attendance requirement and completes the assignments to a satisfactory standard
• understands the core content of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• knows the concepts of graphic design and typography and is aware of the special requirements of various graphic design products
• is able to communicate with images, text and their interaction
• can use tools intended for professional use
• can apply their graphic design skills in practice
• actively participates in class
• completes assignments independently and on time, and shows initiative
• masters the content of the course and applies the learned knowledge in their work
• is capable of independent information retrieval.

The student
