Objective

The student is able to design and implement a website. The student is able to use web publishing techniques and tools in his own productions and knows the potential of publishing platforms. The student knows the basic principles of usability and user interface design and is able to apply them in designing the visual appearance of websites. The student knows the special features of online typography. The student is able to design interactive functionalities in a web service. The student knows the means and practices of online visibility.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to implement a web page and publish it. The student is able to describe usability factors of a user interface. The student is able to design the visuals, typography and interactions of a website with appropriate tools. The student is able to describe how a CMS works. The student is able to name factors affecting online presence.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to design, implement and publish a website with mostly appropriate design choices concerning visuals and usability. The student is able to analyze the usability of a user interface. The student is able to design the visuals, typography and interactions of a website with appropriate tools and take into account the principles of visual user interface design in their own design work. The student is able to install a CMS and modify the content and layout of a website in a CMS. The student is able to define factors affecting online presence.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to design, implement and publish a high quality website with appropriate design choices concerning visuals and usability. The student is able to analyze the usability of a website systematically. The student is able to design the visuals, typography and interactions of a website with appropriate tools, apply the principles of visual user interface design in their own design work and justify the solutions analytically. The student is able to install a CMS, modify the content and layout of a website in a CMS and also utilize the advanced features of a CMS. The student is able to apply the means of online presence in practice. The student is able to apply what they have learned and seek information independently to solve problems.
