Learning outcomes

The student knows main movements and styles of European and Finnish interior design. The student is able to identify different styles and stylistic features, materials and techniques of furniture especially with the relation to Finnish furniture.

The student comprehends the major movements, the main stylistic features and the legacy of Western furniture and interiors. The student masters the basic elements of the course and understands the key contents of the course. The student knows on a basic level materials and stylistic characteristics related to Western furniture and interiors and is able to date furniture and artefacts. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme.

The student masters well the basic elements of the course and understands the key contents of the course. The student knows the major movements and the legacy of Western furniture and interiors. The student understands the theoretical and applied principles related to the course theme. The student knows materials, techniques and stylistic characteristics related to Western furniture and interiors and is able to date furniture and artefacts. The student masters the subject area and has achieved good level of knowledge and skills. The student has fulfilled the course assignments independently enough. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme and is able to analyze this data.

The student masters the subject area and has achieved excellent level of knowledge and skills. The student knows the major movements and the legacy of Western furniture and interiors. The student understands the theoretical and applied principles related to the course theme. The student knows materials, techniques and stylistic characteristics related to Western furniture and interiors and is able to date works furniture and artefacts. The student shows excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and is able to apply her/his knowledge. The student is able to fulfill independently both written and practical assignments. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme and is able to analyze and apply this data.
