Bachelor`s Thesis (15 ECTS)

Objective

The student concentrates on working unsupervised and carries out a Bachelor thesis work. The student deepens his/her knowledge of professional expertise and learns to take responsibility for work projects. He/she learns to evaluate his/her own expertise and complements those fields of expertise in an appropriate manner.
During this process the student applies the data search methods relevant to his/her own field of study, adapts previously acquired information with new information and creates new solutions and interpretations. He/she learns to perceive details when part of a larger context.
The student knows how to write a written report on his/her work including description, analysis and clarifying examples of the process and the results of the work.
The work may be a design project, a research project or a product development project, where the student utilises the previously learned skills. It is carried out in collaboration with a work community or it otherwise benefits his /her field of expertise.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The planning process and output:
- The student is able to follow the scheduled plan; still the use of assistance is needed.
Applying the theory, choosing the sources, logical thinking:
- The student is able to gather enough information from his/her field of study in order to formulate a thesis.
- The student is able to choose the methods for thesis, but assistance is needed.
Achieving the goals and relevance and functionality of methods used:
- The student is able to choose the appropriate tools to achieve his/her goals; still the use of assistance is needed.
- The student is able to achieve at least some of the goals set for the thesis.
Recoverable results:
- The results of the thesis make partly use for the principal.
Conclusions, critical evaluation:
- The student has been able to make some conclusions and is able to evaluate these in critical way.
The layout and reporting style:
- The student is able to make a comprehensible thesis which fulfils the given language demands. Student is able to make the thesis according the formula used in conservation.
The oral presentation is illustrative enough and suitable for thesis presentation.

- The student is able to gather information from his/her field of study in order to formulate a thesis.
- The student is able to choose independently the methods for thesis and the reasoning is competent.
Achieving the goals and the relevance and functionality of methods used:
- The student is able to achieve most of the goals set for the thesis and the results are of use to conservation profession.
Recoverable results:
- The results of the thesis make use for the principal.
Conclusions, critical evaluation:
- The student has been able to make good conclusions and has been able to evaluate these in critical way.
The layout and reporting style:
- The student has been able to make an explicit thesis which fulfils well the given language demands.
- Student has been able to make the thesis according the formula used in conservation and is able to allocate the thesis according its context. Structuring of the thesis is lucid and logical.
- The oral presentation is illustrative and informative for the thesis presentation.

- The student is able to make a good plan and follow the scheduled plan independently.
Applying the theory, choosing the sources, logical thinking:
- The student is able to gather both old and fresh information extensively from his/her field of study in order to formulate a thesis.
- The student is able to interpret the theory in a way that it supports the practical solutions.
- The student is able to choose independently the methods for thesis and the reasoning is competent.
- The student uses the methods systematically and the reasoning is convincing.
Achieving the goals and the relevance and functionality of methods used:
- The student is able to achieve all the goals set for the thesis.
- The student is able to solve specific professional challenge or the results are new and remarkable to the conservation profession.
Recoverable results:
- The results of the thesis make use widely for the principal.
Conclusions, critical evaluation:
- The student is able to make right and well-reasoned conclusions and is able to evaluate these in critical way.
- Conclusions are personal, new and interesting for the conservation.
The layout and reporting style:
- The student is able to make a professional thesis which fulfils all the given language demands.
- Student is able to make the thesis according the formula used in professional conservation and is able to allocate the thesis according professional context. Structuring of the thesis is professional, lucid and logical.
- The oral presentation is professional, illustrative and informative for the thesis presentation. Student can use all the means of visual and oral presentation.
