Objective

On completion of the course, the student will be familiar with:
- the principles of operation and management system in a large construction firm
- the principles of leadership
- labour legislation and collective labour agreements in construction

Content

Management in a construction firm according to the management system. Basics of leadership. Labour legislation and collective labour agreements in construction.

Teaching methods

Luennoilla käsitellään päivän teema. Opiskelija tekee annetun tehtävän ja selvityksen/oppimispäiväkirjan.
Tenttiä ei pidetä, vaan tehtävät arvostellaan.
Toteutus ja pisteytykset tallennetaan opintojakson työtilaan.

The student is familiar with the basic principles of leadership and negotiation skills. The student is familiar with the essentials of the collective labour agreement as well as the principles of employment related legislation.

The student is familiar with the principles of leadership and negotiation skills, and is able to plan leadership and negotiation situations. The student is familiar with the essentials of the collective labour agreement as well as the principles of employment related legislation, and is able to apply them in practice.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is familiar with the principles of leadership and negotiation skills and is able to plan leadership and negotiation situations. The student is able to organize work and to manage a goal-oriented negotiation process. The student is familiar with the essentials of the collective labour agreement as well as the principles of employment related legislation, and is able to apply them in practice. The student is able to draw up an action plan for situations of change in employment.
