Objective

After completing the course, the student has gained an overall understanding of HVAC systems in a single-family houses. Students will have a general understanding of public regulations and guidelines for HVAC systems in buildings. He / she knows the HVAC drawings and identifies the HVAC products shown on them. The student knows different requirements related to the selection and operation of the HVAC system and can evaluate them compared to other similar HVAC systems.

Content

Regulations and and guidelines for the design, implementation and use of HVAC systems in a residential buildings. Getting to know the most common HVAC drawing symbols and related products and installations. Design of water, sewerage, heating and ventilation systems in a residential house.

The student is able to define and list the operations of HVAC systems and recognizes the most common HVAC drawing symbols and equipment.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can independently describe and illustrate how the HVAC system operates, what are the most common symbols used in HVAC drawings and which equipment corresponds to the symbols.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can describe as well as explain the operation of an HVAC system using official professional terminology and drawing symbols. The student is also familiar with the most important HVAC equipment.
