Objective
Students
- can apply the theoretical and clinical competence required by the clinical practice environment to the nursing care of clients/patients
- are competent in the necessary procedures and diagnostic examinations as part of the holistic patient care in their clinical practice environment
- can maintain and promote the health of clients/patients and their significant others in a client-oriented way in nursing care
- follow the ethical guidelines and principles of nursing
- act as responsible members of their multiprofessional work group and work community
- identify development needs of nursing care

Compulsory studies prior to practise:
Pharmacotherapy 1 with accepted drug calculations (100% correct).
Pharmacotherapy 2 necessary parts of the course accomplished ( Clinical nursing practise 1: theory studies commenced and laboratory skills 1-3 done)
The Basic practice of clinical nursing 1 & 2 accomplished and approved or RLP.
Theory studies related to practical field in question accomplished ( gerontological nursing theory recommended prior to gerontological clinical practise but not compulsory)
Drug calculations related to theory studies passed
Studies required by the practise unit accomplished
Clinical practise in pediatric or adolescent care units: Student has to show criminal record certificate prior to starting clinical practise
