Objective
The student will be familiar with the essentials of the European art and culture. The student will know the major movements and works of art in the Western art history. The student will understand the connection between modern art and culture and the history of art and culture. The student will be able to understand and evaluate his/her professional activities in the context of the history of art and culture. The student will be able to critically analyze and study works of art and phenomena of art and culture.

The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme.

The student understands the theoretical and applied principles related to the course theme. The student knows materials, techniques and stylistic characteristics related to Western art and is able to date works of art and artefacts. The student masters the subject area and has achieved good level of knowledge and skills. The student has fulfilled the course assignments independently enough. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme and is able to analyze this data.
