Advanced Clinical Practice (10 ECTS)

Objective

Students
-understand the holistic view of acute nursing and the duties and responsibilities related to it.
-understand the phases of the care process of an acutely ill patient and their significance to the patient’s care chain.
-can work as members of multiprofessional teams and participate in the decision-making on patient care.
-can observe and care for an acutely ill patient.
understand the educational needs of acutely ill patients and their significant others as well as are able to provide patient education and support to them.
apply evidence-based knowledge and recognize development needs and methods of acute nursing.

Content

Clinical practice includes learning laboratory and simulation studies 2.5 ects

Location and time

Clinical practice weeks 37-41 or as individually planned.

Materials

Professional literature advised in theoretical studies and by the practise unit.

Teaching methods

Laborations and simulation (2.5 ECTS) are being organized at the school in connection with theoretical studies prior to clinical practise. Clinical practice place is in the acute care environment chosen by the student.

No optional methods. AHOT applications as advised in Metropolia study regulations before the practise.

Student workload

Clinical practice is 7.5 ECTS credits and 5 weeks or 200 hours. During the training, the working methods, shifts and general principles of the work community are being obeyed.

Content scheduling

Clinical practice Autumn 2022 or as individually planned. If a student graduates in December 2022, the practice must be completed before the graduation date.

Syventävää -harjoittelua ennen:
Perusopinnot suoritettu harjoitteluineen, hoitotason ja päivystyshoitotyön teoriat suoritettu. Tehohoito- ja perioperatiivinen hoitotyön opintojakso tulee olla suoritettu ennen harjoittelua teho- tai valvontaosastolla tai perioperatiivisessa toimintaympäristössä. Opintojakson lääkelaskutentti tulee olla hyväksytty ennen harjoittelua.
Opiskelijan tulee tutustua oppilaitoksen harjoitteluohjeisiin ja tulostaa itselleen harjoittelulomakkeet ennen harjoittelua.
Opiskelija vastaa siitä, että hän on tietoinen harjoittelun vaatimuksista ja ohjeista.
Opiskelijan tulee esitellä päivitetty jobiili-CV:nsä sekä tavoitteensa työelämäohjaajalleen ensimmäisten harjoittelupäivien aikana.
Harjoittelunajankohdat eli päivät ja päivien kesto sovitaan harjoittelun työelämäohjaajan kanssa kirjallisesti käyttäen oppilaitoksen kaavaketta. Opiskelijan tulee noudattaa sovittuja ajankohtia. Harjoittelun tuntimäärä on 200.
Viimeistään harjoittelun ensimmäisen viikon päätyttyä opiskelija palauttaa työelämäohjaajan hyväksymät tavoitteensa sekä työvuoronsa ohjaavalle opettajalle.
Opiskelija saa tavoitteista palautteen ja on velvollinen sitoutumaan harjoittelunsa tavoitteisiin.
Loppu-/väliarviointi tehdään opiskelijan, työelämäohjaajan ja ohjaavan opettajan kontaktilla, etäyhteydellä tai tarvittaessa opettajan henkilökohtaisella käynnillä.
Harjoittelun päätyttyä opiskelija palauttaa harjoittelun lomakkeet viikon kuluessa asianmukaisesti täytettynä ohjaavalle opettajalle.
