- can carry out health examinations and screenings of school-age children and young people in different age groups
- can identify the need for individual support and provide help as well as refer a school-age child or young person to further treatment
- can apply the methods of health promotion in a client-oriented way
- can apply cultural competence and outreach work to public health nursing of schoolchildren and young people
- can work in the multi-actor operating environment of schools and student health service
- can promote the health of school and student communities and environment
- can act in crisis situations of the school community
- can implement work to prevent infectious diseases in the school and student communities
- are familiar with the prevention of accidents and first aid in school and student communities
