Teaching methods

This course will be implemented mainly in Finnish, but there will be English materials and lot of practical exercises instead of lectures. In practical work you can use English & Finnish with young clients. This course is aiming at more interaction with the Finnish students, and it will be a good chance for learning professional Finnish in a supportive environment, so you are not expected to be perfect. Also reporting can be done either in Finnish or English.

This study unit will be implemented in collaboration with Creating Positive Future FUTU project. We will explore the use of methods of gamification and other creative methods in combination with social pedagogical Future councelling methods. The students will implement in pairs a small scale sociocultural animation project in collaboration with FUTU parthers. The possible sites for the project are eg.:
* Upper Secondary School HYL
* Youth Councelling Center / Association Valo-valmennusyhdistys (Myllypuro)
* Group family home for underaged assylum seekers in Espoo
* The Girls House (Tyttöjen talo)
