Learning outcomes

Students will be able to motivate and activate communities through expressive, interactive activities. They will be able to support and guide creative processes that improve quality of life for individuals and communities. Students will recognize the possibilities of creative methods in improving emotional skills. Students will know how to plan, implement and assess creative activities aimed at creating change.

Content

Expressive methods as a means of analysing reality and sharing meaning. Creative methods to strengthen group formation. Goal-oriented support of participants’ agency and cultural diversity. Creative methods as a means of exploring self-awareness and new perspectives. Actors of applied arts and multi-professional co-operation. Arts and well-being.

This study module is based on face-to-face interaction in practical workshops, where we will will deepen our personal understanding about use of music, visual expression and drama, Also glimpses to gamification.
There will be a facilitation exercise of small workshop with international students of Metropolia in collaboration with Metka student association.

Teaching and assignments will be in English, but participant come from DPSS and Finnish students. Due to the practical nature of the study unit, both languages can be used in implementation.

Assessment methods and criteria

ARVIOINNIN TAVAT:
Arviointi opintojaksolla perustuu luoville ja ryhmälähtöisille menetelmille tyypilliseen prosessiarviointiin. Työskentelyä ja sen merkitystä reflektoidaan yhdessä lähiopetuksen kuluessa. Yhteisarvioinnissa purkupäivässä kiinnitetään huomiota tavoitteiden toteutumiseen; ryhmäprosessin etenemiseen ja subjektiivisten merkitysten pohdintaan. Arvioinnissa käytetään toiminnallisia ja keskustelevia menetelmiä.
ARVIOINNIN OSAT:
* Läsnäolot lähiopetuksessa vähintään 80% kussakin osuudessa (draama, musiikki, kuvallinen ilmaisu) ja läsnäolo 100% purkupäivässä, opintojakson läsnäololistat
* Tehtävän A ja B suorittaminen hyväksytysti.
