The Geriatric and Specially Dependent Patient (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student:
- understands the meaning of ageing
- is able to plan, execute and evaluate the health promoting and performance supporting nursing care of the elderly
- is able to evaluate the risks related to the health, environment and life of the elderly and can direct the patient to relevant services
- is able to co-operate with the elderly and his next of kin in order to make informed decisions related to his health promotion and to support his dignified life
- is able to provide health care in the patients home
- is able to provide symptom-related and humane nursing care for the terminally ill and for those suffering from long-term illness, as well as to support his next of kin

Lääkelaskut:
Varsinainen koe opintojakson orientaation yhteydessä
Lääkelaskujen uusinnat (2kpl) opintojakson aikana (ajat ilmoitetaan lukujärjestykseen)

Verkkotenttien (geriatria, gerontologinen hoitotyö) aikataulut ilmoitetaan orientaatiossa.

Tenttien uusintaa saa yrittää kaksi kertaa määriteltyinä uusintakertoina, sen jälkeen opintojakso suoritetaan uudelleen. Korotusta saa yrittää kerran seuraavassa mahdollisessa uusintakerrassa. Uusinnat ilmoitetaan orientaatiossa.

Opintojakso voidaan hyväksilukea osittain tai kokonaan aikaisemmin hankitun osaamisen perusteella AHOT-ohjeiden mukaisesti (ks OMA). AHOT-prosessi käynnistetään ennen opinotojakson alkamista. Opiskelija ilmoittautuu opintojaksolle ja osallistuu orientaatiotunnille. Osittainen ahot- päätös tulee esittää opintojakson vastuuopettajalle ennen orientaatiota, tässä yhteydessä sovitaan puuttuvan osuuden suoritustapa.

Erityistukea tarvitsevan hoitotyö 2,5 op: 67,5 h

1 op = 27 t
5 op = 135 t opiskelijan työtä

- Toteutuksen kokonaistuntimäärä 135 tuntia, josta lähiopetusta 30t, itsenäistä yksilö- ja pienryhmätyöskentelyä 105t.

Teoriatunteihin sisältyy oppimistehtäviä, joiden suorittaminen on välttämätöntä ja edellyttävät läsnäoloa. Poissaolotilanteessa sovi poissaolon korvaamisesta opettajan kanssa.

Opintojakson kokonaisarvosana on osioiden 1 ja 3 keskiarvo, painokerroin 50/50. Jos opiskelijalla on aiempi suoritus toisesta osasta (gerontologinen hoitotyö) ja tekee tästä syystä vain toisen osion, tulee kokonaisarvosanaksi ko. osion arvosana.
