Occupational Therapy: Advanced studies 1 (5 ECTS)

Objective

Students recognize key areas of occupational therapy in terms of their own professional development and the field’s future. They choose advanced studies in occupational therapy accordingly and add to their own competence and perspective on occupational therapy. Students are able to share what they have learnt about occupational therapy with others and influence others through rational and reasoned argumentation. They build new knowledge based on the competence that they have acquired. Students internalize the significance of continuous improvement as part of professional growth.

In-depth study of the chosen area of occupational therapy. Sharing one’s own competence.

Location and time

Opintojakso suoritetaan omassa tahdissa joustavasti lukukauden aikana (2 op itsenäinen tehtävä ja 3 op paritehtävä, palautetaan samaan aikaan)

Vaihtoehtoinen suoritustapa 3 op osuuteen:
FAB intensiiviviikko 7.-11.2. Helsingissä. Tässä toteutusvaihtoehdossa opiskelija osallistuu englanninkieliseen opetukseen (erillinen aikataulu tammikuussa) sekä ryhmätyöskentelyyn belgialaisten ja itävaltalaisten opiskelijoiden kanssa. Osa opiskelijoista voi tehdä toteutuksen ryhmätehtävän suomen kielellä. Tämäkin ryhmä mukaelee intensiiviviikon ohjelmaa. Käytännössä tämä vaatii työpanosta ko.viikolla joka päivä ja viikon aikana ryhmätyönä valmistuva esitys korvaa parityönä tehtävän kirjallisen tehtävän. Opintojaksolle ilmottaudutaan normaalisti vaikka osallistuisit tähän vaihtoehtoiseen toteutukseen.


Tehtävien palautusajankohdat kevätlukukaudella 27.2. tai 29.4. Moodleen. Mikäli opiskelija valmistumassa ja tarvitsee arvosanan opintorekisteriin sen vuoksi tiettyyn päivään mennessä tulee tämä mainita tehtävien palautuksen yhteydessä sähköpostilla opintojakson opettajille.

Opintojakso koostuu kahdesta tehtävästä:
2 op yksilöllinen ammatillisen harkinnan tehtävä
3 op paritehtävä valitusta syventymisalueesta

Annettujen tehtävien tekeminen ja palautus ilmoitettuina ajankohtina. Itsenäinen perehtyminen annettuun kirjallisuuteen sekä oma tiedonhaku.

The student is able to:

The student is able to:

- act responsibly in work duties, taking safety issues into consideration
- evaluate actions from the viewpoint of professional ethics
- represent his professional field in multidisciplinary and international groups and projects

The student is able to:
- display a good understanding of professional information
- use theoretical and professional concepts and knowledge like an expert and combine them into larger

- develop innovative and alternative solutions to professional assignments and problems

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Fail 0
- The student does not know or appreciate knowledge in the field sufficiently
- The student cannot use concepts in the field properly
- The student's professional level is insufficient to be an expert
- The student is not acting in accordance with his training and guidance
- The student is careless about professional safety or ethical principles
- The student is not motivated by or participating in group or development work
