Objective

Students are capable of examining the restrictions of movement of the spine and limbs. They can implement various techniques improving the restriction of movement of joints and modify them when needed. Student recognizes the contraindications of these techniques and can explain their therapeutic effects.
Student is able to make a self-care plan together with client to promote client´s health. Student is able to base planning on osteopathic principles and justifies guidance from the anatomical and physiological aspects. Student understands the significance of self-care and exercise to health and is able to estimate it´s significance as part of the osteopathic treatment. Student can provide education on exercises and self-care promoting health and supporting osteopathic treatment.

Content

HVLA manipulation techniques, MET techniques, positional release. Examination and treatment of the temporomandibularjoint.
Client´s education and guidance. Healthy living recommendations. Bone exercise recommendations. Self-care plan. Mobility exercises for spine and limbs. Breathing exercises.
The course includes 4 cr of clinical practice.

Written learning assignment
The student must review the functional anatomy associated with the area before each lesson. Absence from lesson will be replaced by a 1 page (A4) summary of the last time the content and short video from practical skills, this will be returned to the Moodle workspace within 2 weeks of the absence.

contact teaching (80% need to be present) ,learning assignments delirived on time, practical exam (60% need to be right to pass)
