Joy and wellbeing from food - child-centered food education (5 ECTS)

Learning outcomes

- a student understands what food education in early childhood means and what are the dimensions of food education
- a student understands the principles of recommended food education and its meaning for child’s growth, wellbeing, health and oral health.

-the significance and background of food education, aims and principles
- the principles of recommended food education and its meaning for child’s growth, well-being, health and oral health
- the impacts and consequences of food education for child’s health and well-being
- multidisciplinary in food education
- the procedures of child’s respectful food education and practical means for implementing of it
- child-friendly, cultural differences, surroundings and supporting in food education
- implementation of food education with multidisciplinary cooperation and families
- evaluating and developing food education

Teaching methods

Opintojakso suoritetaan Moodlessa, mutta se sisältää kaksi kaikille yhteistä etätapaamista, joissa läsnäolovelvoite. Opintojaksolle pääsy edellyttää aiheeseen orientoivan ennakkotehtävän palautuksen 3.9. mennessä sekä osallistumisen orientaatioon kyseisenä päivänä klo 14-15.30. Loppuseminaariin (etänä) tulee osallistua 15.10. klo 9-12.

Moodlessa tehdään itseohjautuvasti oppimistehtäviä (yksilö ja/tai ryhmätehtäviä, dialogia sekä vertaisarviointia). Tehtävien aikataulutus ohjeellisilla palautuspäivillä. Tarkentuu myöhemmin. Loppuseminaarissa esitettävää ruokakasvatustapahtuma-tehtävää voidaan käyttää myöhemmin hyödyksi Metropolian HyMy-kylän toiminnassa.

Tutkintosääntö: "Opiskelija vahvistaa paikkansa opintojaksototeutuksella olemalla läsnä opetuksen alkaessa tai muutoin opettajan kanssa erikseen sovitulla tavalla, joka voi esimerkiksi olla ensimmäisen oppimistehtävän palautus. Jos opiskelija ei sairauden vuoksi pysty osallistumaan opetuksen alkuun, hän voi myös vahvistaa opiskelupaikkansa ilmoittamalla siitä opettajalle etukäteen."
Opintojaksolle pääsy edellyttää myös orientoivan ennakkotehtävän palautuksen ja hyväksytyn tekemisen määräaikaan 3.9. mennessä. Lisätietoja opintojaksosta sekä ohjeet ennakkotehtävään Moodlen työtilassa. Moodle avataan 30.8.2021. Opintojaksolle ilmoittautuneet tulevat saamaan tästä tarkemmat ohjeet.

Kyseessä on opintojakso, joka on laadittu yhteistyössä Suomen Sydänliiton kanssa Sydänliiton koordinoimassa ruokakasvatushankkeessa. Jotta opintojakson sisältöä voidaan kehittää edelleen eteenpäin, sisältyy siihen opiskelijan itsearviointi omasta oppimisestaan sekä palaute käytetystä materiaalista.
Opettajilla on 4 viikkoa aikaa antaa arvosana toteutuksen päättymisen jälkeen.

Opettajan laatimat tehtävät ja materiaalit ovat Tekijänoikeuslain (404/61) mukaisia teoksia, joihin opettajalla on tekijänoikeus. Näitä tehtäviä ja materiaaleja ei saa käyttää muuten kuin omissa opinnoissaan. Niiden julkinen levittäminen on sallittua vain opettajan luvalla.
