Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student knows the basic concepts and theory of identification, research and conservation of wooden artefacts and wood. The student knows on a basic level the materials, methods and technology for wood research and conservation. The student understands satisfactorily the content of the course and is able to apply the main methods. The student knows the necessary theoretical and applied principles. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student has good knowledge on the basic approaches, concepts and terminology of research and conservation of wood and wooden artefacts. The student shows good theoretical and practical knowledge. The student is able to give reasons for his/her conservation approaches and practical work proceeds logically by following the established procedure in conservation. The student masters the course content both in theory and practice and has achieved a good level of knowledge and skills. The student has fulfilled the course assignments independently enough. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme and is able to analyze this data.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student masters the subject area of wood conservation and research and has achieved excellent level of knowledge and skills. The student shows excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and is able to apply her/his knowledge. The student is able to fulfill independently both written and practical assignments. The student is able to acquire independently reliable data upon course theme and is able to analyze and apply this data. The student is able to discuss the course theme by using relevant terminology and concepts. The student is able to give reasons for his/her conservation choices and practical work proceeds logically by following the established procedure in conservation. The student works independently and shows self-motivation and creativity in problem solving.
