Materials and Process Selection in EngineeringLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Course unit code: TX00GL10

General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

Today, with more materials and manufacturing processes than ever before, the opportunities for engineering innovation are immense. These innovative advances are possible by using a rational approach to material and process selection. This course develops a systematic procedure for selecting materials and manufacturing processes that best fit the requirements of product design. Material and process information is rationally structured in databases, providing rapid access to information and the user's freedom to explore the potential of the selection made. The method is implemented using ANSYS Granta Edupack software, allowing for great flexibility in the selection processes.
