Study module consists of three 5-credit courses. Students can also choose one of the individual 5-credit courses out of the 15-credit module. The first module Perspectives on child’s optimal growth and development is recommended for all students. The next two modules, Supporting the wellbeing of child and Enhancing functioning of the child with special needs, are recommended especially to students in health care and social services.

Description
What is it like to be a child today? This elective study module offers all students of Metropolia knowledge and skills for understanding and enhancing children’s wellbeing and functioning, which can be applied in working life.
During the study module, the students have the opportunity to:
- Learn about child development and growth and common challenges in child’s wellbeing and functioning
- Find ways to enhance child’s wellbeing and functioning
- Learn about child and family-centered interdisciplinary teamwork and contribute their learning for the benefit of a group
