Objective
The target of the course is to provide an overview of service design and design sprint skills. The student learns to create and assess new ideas, services and products, which are customer-oriented and cost-effective. The student acquires basic skills and knowledge to develop their businesses and services by leveraging service design and design sprint methodologies. The student develops their customer research and idea creation skills. The student learns how to assess their ideas and how to continually use their research to inform good business development decisions. The student will also know how to move from ideas to testable concepts. The student will know how diverse prototyping methods can help to quickly test ideas to reduce costs and time to market. Additionally, the student will learn how to pitch their idea to advocate and promote the solution that they have designed.

• different kinds of user research and what they offer
• more inclusive ways of group idea creation
• how to synthesise ideas into concepts
• the importance of prototyping
• how to prototype your concepts
• the importance of iteration
• and, ways "to sell" your new tested concept internally and externally through pitching
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
This course is a pass or fail course and requires a 70% success rate in the online assessment.
