Qualifications

Here incoming exchange students can find courses offered by Degree Programme in Design. Courses are offered only for the degree programme's own exchange students. The courses in Design are usually taught in Finnish. However, the ones below are practice-based courses with more individual teaching and the teachers will guide exchange students in English. No Finnish skills are required to follow the courses. The credits are ECTS credits (1 ECTS credit equals 27 hours of work, including contact hours, independent work, exams etc.). The typical workload for one semester is 30 ECTS credits.
Students can choose courses from only one specialization (Industrial design, Interior Architecture or Textile design). In addition to these courses, students can choose from the “Additional Courses for all exchange students” list.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN:
Product Design Project 2 10 ECTS
Life Drawing and Painting 5 ECTS
Product Workshop 5 ECTS

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE:
Spatial design 3: Exhibition and Event Spaces 10 ETCS
Building Technology 2: Rehabilitation 10 ECTS
Product Workshop 5 ECTS

TEXTILE DESIGN
International Project 10 ECTS
Printed Textiles and Surface Design 10 ECTS - The course is normally 15 ECTS, but exchange students do only part of it worth 10 ECTS. Please make sure you mark 10 ECTS on your learning agreement
Presentation Techniques 5 ECTS
