Students must be informed at the beginning of the course on the assessment principles, which must be based on the course objectives. Assessment takes primarily place for each course and applies to the students who have registered and been accepted on the course. If necessary, different components of a course may be assessed individually. If the course consists of several components, the teacher may point this out in the assessment principles contained in the implementation plan.
The assessment scale is as follows: excellent (5), very good (4), good (3), very satisfactory (2), satisfactory (1), fail (0) and pass (P). Any deviations of this scale will be decided by the President.

This Master’s degree programme is carried out on a part-time basis, as it is intended to be completed alongside work. The learning sessions are mainly organized during weeknights, on some occasions as a combination of a Friday evening and Saturday. Alternatives offered by the curriculum combined with an intensive thesis work allows for full-time study, if more suitable for an individual Master’s student. The duration of the studies is 2 years alongside work.
Master's Degree (Second Cycle)
Most of our student’s combine studies with work. Together they create an unique contact network, which includes their own organizations. We also invite professionals from various fields and companies to provide guest lectures. Best practices from companies are discussed and shared in all our courses.
Metropolia’s wide network with other Universities around the world offers a number of opportunities for short term exchange as well as for longer exchanges. We would like to see all our students participating in a study trip abroad during their studies. Metropolia Master’s Summer School offers courses taught by overseas visiting lecturers which creates an international experience for all participants.
