Objective

Upon completion of the course, the student is familiar with current technologies or applications that expand their professional competence. They can acquire and evaluate information on emerging technological solutions. The student can explore emerging technologies in the context of live performances, events or design. They can analyse and evaluate the use and impact of emerging technological solutions in performance and theatre technology. The student gains a deeper understanding of the role of technology in the technical-artistic production process. They are able to predict the impact of technological advancements on their own work and the future of the profession.

• Familiarisation with current developments in performance and theatre technology and other relevant technologies of interest
• Workshop on emerging technological solutions
• Acquisition and critical analysis of technological knowledge
• Futures workshop

Qualifications

KM00GI17 Basics of Live Performance Technology (5 ECTS) and KM00GI16 Safety in Performing Arts Environment (5 ECTS) and KM00GI25 Technical-Artistic Design (5 ECTS) or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with current technologies that expand their professional competence. The student is able to experiment with emerging technologies. The student understands the role of technology in technical-artistic work to a large extent. The student can make a cursory assessment of the implications of future technological developments for their own work and professional activities.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is familiar with current technologies and applications that expand their professional competence. They can acquire information on new technological solutions from a variety of sources and assess the reliability and usefulness of the information. The student can experiment with emerging technologies, justify the solutions adopted and evaluate the relevance of the experiment in the context of live performance technology. The student understands the importance of technology in technical-artistic work and is able to assess the impact of technological solutions on the outcome and the production process. The student can analyse the impact of technological advancements on their own work and the future of the profession.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has explored in depth current technologies and applications that expand their professional competence. They can independently acquire information on new technological solutions from a variety of sources and assess the reliability and usefulness of the information in the context of live performance technology. The student carries out creative and innovative experiments with emerging technologies and justifies the solutions adopted. The student evaluates the significance of the experiments from both a technical and an artistic perspective. They understand the role of technology in technical-artistic work and are able to assess in depth the impact of technological solutions on the outcome and the production process. The student analyses the impact of technological advancements on their own work and future professional activities with foresight and is able to apply this knowledge to their professional development.
