Objective

Upon completion of the course, the student understands the role of live performance and theatre technology as part of events, venues and performances and the production models of organisations. The student is able to resource technical production and understands the importance of financial management in theatre and event production. The student is able to acquire knowledge of the supply and subcontracting chains in the event industry. They identify the purchasing, licensing and contracting practices of technical live performance productions and the responsibilities of an event organiser. The student is able to assess the overall technical implementation from the point of view of safety and sustainability.

The course focuses on national production structures and the live performance technology production process as part of theatre and event production, with an additional focus on international productions. The course develops competence in the core activities and resourcing of an organisation, considering the responsibilities of the business owner.

KM00GI27 Technical Planning and Production 2 (5 ECTS) or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student recognises the role of live performance and theatre technology as part of event, venue and live performance processes. The student has a basic working knowledge of technical production resource management and recognises the significance of financial management in theatre and event production. The student is able to acquire knowledge of the supply and subcontracting chains. They identify the purchasing, licensing and contracting practices of technical live performance productions and the responsibilities of an event organiser. The student is able to assess the overall technical implementation from the point of view of safety and sustainability.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the role of live performance and theatre technology as part of event, venue and live performance processes. The student has a good command of technical production resource management and financial management in theatre and event production. The student is able to acquire knowledge of the supply and subcontracting chains in event productions. They identify the responsibilities of an event organiser. The student is able to assess the overall technical implementation from the point of view of safety and sustainability and can draw well-founded conclusions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has an in-depth understanding of the role of live performance and theatre technology as part of event, venue and live performance processes and can apply their knowledge. The student has an excellent command of technical production resource management and financial management in theatre and event production. The student is able to independently acquire, analyse and apply information of the supply and subcontracting chains in event productions. They know the responsibilities of an event organiser. The student is able to assess the overall technical implementation from the point of view of safety and sustainability and can draw innovative and well-founded conclusions.
