Objective

The student understands the physical principles of sound and acoustics and is able to apply them to the design and operation of sound systems. The student is able to set up a simple sound system using equipment and methods typical to the profession. The student can use mixers in basic settings. The student understands the role of sound engineering in live performances and is familiar with the job profiles related to sound. The student is familiar with the most common design tools in the industry and is able to interpret and prepare sound engineering plans and documentation. The student is able to consider the safety risks of sound and the principles of sustainable development in their work.

Qualifications

KM00GI17 Basics of Live Performance Technology (5 ECTS) and KM00GI16 Safety in Performing Arts Environment or equivalent knowledge and skills.

The student can interpret sound system documents and design typical sound systems for live performances. The student can set up and operate simple sound systems and is familiar with the safety risks associated with sound. The student is familiar with the job profiles related to sound in event and theatre productions. The student considers the principles of sustainable development in their work.

The student can interpret and prepare sound system documents and design typical sound systems for live performances. The student justifies their design solutions using their professional knowledge, and their knowledge of the physics of sound and the technical properties of sound signals. The student can set up and operate simple sound systems and takes into consideration the safety risks associated with sound in their work. The student understands the role of sound engineering in live performances and is familiar with the job profiles related to sound in event and theatre productions. The student considers the principles of sustainable development in their work.

The student can interpret and prepare sound system documents and design advanced sound systems for live performances. The student justifies their design solutions using their professional knowledge, and their knowledge of the physics of sound and the technical properties of sound signals.
