Objective

After completing this course, the student is able to write their thesis work. The student is familiar with the guidelines related to the thesis work. The student is familiar with methods and principles of research relevant to their professional field. They know the intellectual and ethical requirements of composing a bachelor´s thesis. They can identify development needs in their own field, outline a research topic and choose an appropriate research method to address the research question.

The student is able to communicate as an expert in various research and development positions and environments, and retrieve and evaluate information critically and use it in a target-oriented way. The student can use their language and communication skills to continuously develop their thinking and expertise. The student can argue, reflect and rationalise their choices.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can, with guidance, select a research or development project topic relevant to their professional field. They are familiar with some research methods and can, with guidance, choose an appropriate method for their topic. The student understands the structural and ethical principles of academic writing. They can search for information from professional sources and apply the acquired knowledge in their studies and work tasks. The student is able to communicate in professional, research, and development contexts.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student can select a research or development project topic based on the development needs of their professional field and outline it clearly. They are familiar with key research methods and can choose an appropriate method for their topic. The student understands the structural and ethical principles of academic writing and applies them in their thesis plan. They can search for information from a wide range of professional sources and assess its reliability and relevance for their studies and work tasks. The student is able to communicate constructively in professional, research, and development contexts.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can select a research or development project topic that develops their professional field and outline it precisely and appropriately. They have a broad understanding of key research methods and can choose a method that is well-justified for the objectives. The student has an excellent command of the structural and ethical principles of academic writing and can apply them effectively and comprehensively in their thesis plan. They can search for information from various professional sources and critically evaluate its reliability and relevance for their studies and work tasks. The student is able to communicate effectively in various professional, research, and development contexts. They demonstrate a willingness to develop their professional communication and interaction skills.
