Objective

Students are able to
-detect, describe their findings, and evaluate their significance by the following examination methods:
microscopy in eye health evaluation
dry eye tests
appropriate fundus and anterior part imaging
applanation tonometry
pachymetry
gonioscopy
automatic perimeter
direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy
-use diagnostic drugs safely manner.

Content

EXAMINATION TECHNIQUES
Anterior segment microscopy in eye health evaluation
Examining the shape and location of unusual findings by microscope, including clusters, opacities, etc.
Dry eye tests
Evaluation of the anterior chamber and gonioscopy
Appropriate imaging techniques
Tonometry
Goldmann applanation tonometry
Pachymetry
Visual field examination with automatic perimeter (static)
Ophthalmoscopy - monocular and binocular indirect techniques

Qualifications

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: General and ocular pathology and pharmacology, clinical optometry and investigative techniques.

The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: General Pharmacology, Ocular Pharmacology, Pathology 1, Pathology 2 and Clinical Optometry and Investigative Techniques .
