Objective

Students are able to
Describe relevant issues relating to general pharmacology in the areas of: pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drugs acting on the autonomic nervous system, analgetics and local anesthetics, antipyretics and anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, antiviral drugs, antiallergic drugs, drugs affecting respiratory and cardiovascular systems, antiseptics, disinfectants, preservatives, common systemic side effects of medications.

Qualifications

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: An understanding of the general anatomy and physiology and the anatomy and physiology of the eye, as well as microbiology.

The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: General Anatomy and Physiology, Ocular Anatomy and Physiology, Clinical Microbiology.
