Objective
Students are able to:
Describe physical and physiological aspects of vision including the principles of psychophysical measurements and visual perception regarding: visual pathways, light perception, colour vision, space perception, form perception, motion perception, temporal perception, and basic psychophysical methods and theory.
Describe the basics of the nervous system; electrophysiology of neurons, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
Measure and evaluate results regarding colour vision, contrast vision, low contrast visual acuity and visual fields.

Anatomy and physiology of the eye:
Retina
Visual pathway
Eye movements
Neurophysiology:
Colour perception
Space perception
Form perception
Light perception
Motion perception
Temporal perception
Psychophysical Methodology
Entoptic Phenomena
Use of tests, equipment knowledge, measurements and their clinical significance:
Colour vision, contrast sensitivity and manual perimetry
Qualifications
The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: Refraction, binocular vision and accommodation.
The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: Refraction and Binocular Vision.
