Objective

Students are able to
Perform accommodation and near vision examination with various methods
Perform binocular vision examination with various methods
Plan and implement an orthoptic treatment.

Content

Practicals:
Eye examination for a child client
Assessment of near vision and accommodation
Identification of accommodative disorders
Assessment of near addition
Assessment and management of binocular vision disorders
Assessment and management of phorias and fusional reserves
Assessment of fixation disparity and stereoacuity
Vision therapy and orthoptic treatment for accommodation and reduced vergence
Management process for orthoptic treatment
Identification of suppression
Recording of visual examination results and use of ICD coding

Qualifications

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: The student is able to determine the objective and subjective refractive error and evaluate accommodation and binocular vision.

The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: Binocular Vision and Eye Examination Practicals 3: Binocular Vision and Accommodation
