Digital Design projectLaajuus (10 cr)

Objective

Students work in small groups on industry projects where they apply what they have learned. Students will be able to apply design planning processes to project work and make informed choices about the technology and content of the project.

Content

Students work on a project and choose a new professional role that they have not previously been involved in. The role can be, for example: technology manager, project manager, user interface and usability designer, concept and content developer, or community communications designer.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• understands how the digital design process works
• understands their own level of competence
• uses their collaboration and communication skills and apply them in project work and decision making
• can solve problems with a team
• contributes satisfactorily to the creation of the final product.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• applies their knowledge of design and production in a client project and is able to reflect on their skills and knowledge
• uses their collaboration and communication skills appropriately and applies them to project work and decision-making
• is self-directed and creative in problem solving
• works with others to develop practical solutions to client needs.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• applies skillfully their knowledge of design and production in a client project and is able to reflect on and critically review their knowledge
• is able to reflect comprehensively their skills in different parts of design
• actively develops their collaboration and communication skills and uses them effectively in project work and decision-making
• is proactive, self-directed and creative in problem solving
• works with others to develop practical and creative solutions to customer needs.
