Objective

The student is able to examine and evaluate materials and their behavior. The student is aware of the difference between materials and understands this on the grounds of her/his chemistry studies. The student knows cleaning methods and processes and is able to use these methods. The student examines and learns the effects of cleaning and is able to evaluate applicability and consequences of the same.

Content

Organic and in-organic materials, structures of materials
Cleaning, documentation, use of microscopy
Dry cleaning methods, solvent cleaning.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to examine and evaluate materials and their behavior. The student is aware of the difference between materials but has difficulties to connect his/her observations with chemical characteristics of these materials. The student knows some cleaning methods and processes and is able to use them. The student´s observations and conclusions concerning the effects of cleaning are inadequate.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to examine and evaluate materials and their behavior. The student is aware of the difference between materials and understands this on the grounds of her/his chemistry studies. The student knows cleaning methods and processes and is able to use these methods. The student examines and learns the effects of cleaning and is able to evaluate applicability and consequences of the same.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to examine and evaluate materials and their behavior. The student is aware of the difference between materials and understands this on the grounds of her/his chemistry studies. The student knows cleaning methods and processes and is able to apply these methods for different objects and situations. The student examines and estimates the effects of cleaning and is able critically evaluate applicability and consequences of these methods.
