Instrument One-to-One Tuition 3Laajuus (5 cr)

Objective

After completing the studies, the student is able to use creatively methods of learner-based pedagogy as an expert of one-to-one tuition of their main instrument. They understand teaching situations and processes and are able to plan and implement wider curves of teaching based on the learner’s strengths. The student is able to give oral feedback on wider learning processes and to use feedback as a supporting and activating method for the learner.

The student has adopted continuous reflection as part of the development as a teacher. They are able to analyze learning situations at a more profound level than is visible and are able to deepen their pedagogical awareness as a part of their professional development. The student has a capability to reflect on their work as a pedagogue in an e-portfolio.

Content

Tutoring in one-to-one tuition (two learners) and continuous reflection alone and in a group. Observation and guided reflection.

Qualifications

Instrument One-to-One Tuition 1 and 2 courses or equivalent skills.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

- Attendance
- Teaching practice, guidance sessions and feedback
- Completion of learning assignments within the given timetable
