Objective

The student will be familiar with the electrical systems of buildings, will learn how to find input values for network dimensioning and will learn how to calculate fault conditions.
The student will be able to form equivalent circuits for phasor calculations.
The student will be able to make the dimensioning calculations of the electricity network of buildings according to the standard SFS 6000.

Content

Physical properties of the AC.
Equivalent circuit of AC circuits.
Phasor calculations.
Physical properties of the harmonics.
Voltage drop, power loss, short-circuit current and earth fault current.
Computer aided calculations.

Qualifications

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to make the dimensioning calculations of the electricity network of buildings and is able to memorize the knowledge listed in the Objectives.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the above mentioned requirements, the student is able to apply the learned knowledge and skills in new similar tasks.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above mentioned requirements, the student is able to invent improvements, compare alternatives and give reasons for his or her choices.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is able to make the dimensioning calculations of the electricity network of buildings and is able to memorize the knowledge listed in the Objectives.
