Ensemble Playing and Music Applications for MusicianLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student is able to act as a member of an ensemble and gains experience in ensemble playing and/or singing. The student understands their own role in the ensemble as an accompanist and as a soloist. The student is able to be a responsible member of a study group and to prepare their own sheet music.

The student is familiar with common music technology and video processing applications used in music studies and music education. The student is able to use computers and common music applications in their studies.
The student develops their interaction skills and is able to reflect on their own and other students’ work and to express themselves verbally and literally. The student is able to read and write music notation.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

In order to get an approved grade, the student
- has participated in lessons as agreed
- has performed the given exercises and tasks according to the agreed schedule
- is able to work independently in repertoire practicing
- is able to act as a part of the ensemble, understanding their role in the band and communicating their own musical views
- is able to use ways of expression that are characteristic of their instruments and the selected repertoire
