Objective

The student knows basic principles of fictional drama series and is proficient in special characteristics of short serials. The student knows the key distribution platforms of fictional series and understands what a target audience is. The student can apply screenwriting tools in developing a concept for a short dramatic series. The student is able to work as a member of a screenwriting team.

- writing a screenplay of an episode and receiving feedback
- giving dramaturgical feedback on other writers text
- using screenwriting applications in series screenwriting and advanced understanding of formats
- reflection on the distribution platforms and target audiences of short serials
- course emphasis varies in different years: e.g. comedy, sitcom, characteristics of multicamera production, etc.
