Objective

After the course the student is familiar with his/her physical and social studying environment. The student knows the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences key guidelines, rules, study practices and curriculum structure. The student knows the student services of Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences as well as the information systems. The student is aware of career opportunities and knows how to improve his/her competence in international affairs. The student knows the practices and standards of the written and online-based professional communication. The student is able to demonstrate his/her knowledge through texts and presentations, and manages information gathering, analyzing, and sharing processes. In addition, he/she is familiar with acquisitions key criteria of communicative electronical and printed documents.

Active participation is a requirement for the completion of the course. The student is familiar with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences as a study environment and is able to plan his/her studies at Metropolia. The student is able to write different text types under supervicion by using information technology softwares.
