Objective

On completion of the course, the student will be able to read and draw technical drawings. The student will be able to make workshop drawings, and choose the suitable tolerances and surface roughness according to the use and production methods.

Content

Technical drawing and labeling
Process flow diagram
Tolerances and surface roughness determination, as well as mark on the drawings, schematic drawings, and assemblies.
The basics of CAD
3D modelling of components and creation of technical drawings out of the 3D-model
Creation of assemblies
Correct material selection for the design/assembly

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to read and produce machine and process flow diagrams
The student can create a 3D model with 3D modelling tool from simple components.
The student can create a bill of materials and an assembly drawing of the 3D assembly.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to read and produce, as well as to design machine drawings.
The student can create a demanding 3D-design.
The student is able to create 3D models with parametric design.
The student can create an exploded view of an assembly.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to read and produce, as well as to design machine drawings, and to mark the surface characters, tolerances and welding symbols in them.
The student can create a 3D model consisting of difficult geometries.
The student can create parametric 3D models in order to have an impact on assemblies.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is able to read and produce machine and process flow diagrams
The student can create a 3D model with 3D modelling tool from simple components.
The student can create a bill of materials and an assembly drawing of the 3D assembly.
