Creative group processes and story tellingLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student:
1) Recognizes the preconditions for creating a well-functioning group
2) Is aware of the influence and the potential of one’s own action influences and of a well-functioning group
3) Can make a contribution in a group and be influenced by the contribution made by others.
4) Can assume the role of a group leader.
5) Can familiarize oneself with the thinking behind storytelling
6) Becomes familiar with dramaturgy behind storytelling and group work

Content

The course introduces the students to the prerequisites of developing creative cooperation and storytelling related to phenomena. The process of the group is explored as a story and it is analyzed both with concepts related to both group dynamics and dramaturgy.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1) The student is present and participates in the group activities
2) The student completes the assignments with a passing grade and meets the deadlines.
3) The student recognizes knowledge related to the concepts and the operating principles of the learning outcomes

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1) The student is present and takes an active role in the group activities
2) The student completes the assignments in a good level and meets the deadlines. He or she also shows commitment in the way tasks are done.
3) The student indicates knowledge related to the concepts and the operating principles of the learning outcomes

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1) The student is present and participates in the contributing way in the group activities
2) The student completes the assignments with an excellent grade and meets the deadlines.
3) The student indicates knowledge related to the concepts and the operating principles of the learning outcomes. Student is able to apply theory to the practice.
