Objective

After finishing the course the student understands the business role of operations and its links to other functions. The student knows different types of processes and ways to manage the operations. The student knows the principles of lay-out planning. Furthermore, the student knows what internal and external factors have an influence on production control. The student knows as well the influence of product design on operations.

Content

Operation strategies, types of processes, materials requirement planning, lay-out planning, production line balancing, master planning, scheduling, E-T-O/A-T-O/M-T-I, JIT production.
