Basics for Dimensioning of HVAC SystemsLaajuus (15 ECTS)
Course unit code: TX00BR38
General information
- Credits
- 15 ECTS
Objective
The students can explain the principles and modes of heat transfer and apply them in heat transfer calculations of a plane, a pipe and a heat exchanger. They can explain how moisture transfers in structures and soil. The students recognize properties of building materials and factors related to corrosion. They are able to design and balance HVAC networks and choose pumps an fans. They can explain the principles of sound and apply them in noise calculations of HVAC systems. The students can design the HVAC networks of a detached house using a CAD tool. They can search for professional information in English and use sources critically. They can in English write a report on a professional topic using thesis template and give an oral presentation of the same topic.
