Objective
Student
- knows essential guidelines of infection control and assimilates the meaning of aseptic action in health care
- controls microbe contamination in care environment and understand the meaning of co-operation in infection control
- recognizes emergency situation and is able to act rationally in such case
- examines patients vital functions applying ABCDE-system and gives symptomatic emergency care
- recognizes most common seizures and need of help
- is able to act in danger and accident situations and starts emergency resuscitation
- knows the essential contents of health care work safety
- obeys work safety regulations and promotes work safety by his/her own actions
- uses safe care procedures in sampling and examination situations
- describes action of care unit as a part of patients care and service pathway
- adopts ergnomic ways of working to his/her professional practice
- professionally encounters people in different life situations
Content
Work safety in health care
Encounter with challencing customer
Hygiene and aseptic action in health care
Ergonomic way of working, safe patient transfers
Observing and assisting vital functions.
Basic concepts of medical therapy and different medication delivery systems
Guaranteing painlessness and treatment of pain
Fluid balance and guranteing it.
Care unit operation and co-operation with laboratory
