Objective
Students understand the requirements of the sound production process from preproduction to the shoot and postproduction. Students are familiar with the sound equipment used in film and television production and able to apply their knowledge in the planning of small-scale on-location recording systems and to take the requirements of the shooting situation into consideration. Students are familiar with the production process of a fiction film and they know how to communicate in a production team. Students comprehend the entire sound production process and master the different elements of film sound (dialogue, foley, special effects, ambient sound and music). Students know the fundamentals of budgeting and they are able to allocate equipment and working hours on the basis of the production at hand. Students understand the utmost importance of content planning in the entire production process. Students apply their skills in the Scene Exercises and the Fiction Film Project.

Fundamentals of Cinematic Techniques (KM00BL09) and Audiovisual Project (KM00BL14) or equivalent
