Objective

Students know the mission of journalism in society and they are able to analyze its impact. They know the fundamentals of a journalistic work process. Students are able to make observations, acquire information and choose an angle for their journalistic work. They know the basic interviewing techniques. Students are familiar with the main information sources in journalism. They are able to assess the material they have collected while doing research. Students know the operating environment and the main occupations in Finnish journalism. Students are familiar with various audiences and target groups. They are able to use an appropriate web publication platform and publish their own audiovisual projects there.

Attendance in classes. Assignments completed. Some parts of the assignments need improvement.

Active participation in classes. Ability to apply the learned knowledge and to reflect on it. Development driven approach to coursework. Generation of new knowledge in order to contribute to the class.
