Objective

After the course the student is familiar with the main theories and basics of leadership and human resource management especially in professional- and artistic communities. In addition to producer’s work’s management needs the student knows the internal forms of communication and the key means of work wellbeing. The student knows the main skills needed when planning, managing and evaluating the speech communication situations in professional work. He/she understands the importance of the skills at the producer’s work. The student is able to realistically evaluate his/her own communication skills and motivates to develop them. He/she is able to use the knowledge gained from the course at the professional communication situations.

The student is aware of the main management theories and models. The student recognizes his/her own skills and understands the requirements of leadership. The student understands the importance of communication skills and is able to work as an expert in a group. The student knows, which are the main communication skills needed in the producer’s work and is motivated to use those appropriately in communication situations.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the main management theories and models and is able to reflect them in relation to his/herself. The student understands the importance of communication in leadership and is able to combine that to the practical management work. The student knows the main oral communication skills needed in producer’s work and is able to apply them in professional communication situations.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to apply different leadership theories and models to practice. The student has the practical management skills, good communicational skills and the ability to network. The student is able to work as an expert and as a superior in a professional organization.
